Zeiss OPMI MDO S5 Microscope

The Zeiss OPMI MDO S5 surgical microscope is dedicated for eye surgery, specifically cataract surgery. Although similar in physical appearance to the MDU, it is not capable of being used for other disciplines. One of the distinguishing features of the MDO is the oblique illumination system. This is an offset light that shines at a different angle to help specifically enhance the red-reflex. Paired with the compact and easily maneuverable Zeiss S5 floor stand, this is a great value for a surgical ophthalmic microscope that doesn’t cut back on features.
